Internship project at Forest Park Forever

These 3 planters were placed in front of the park’s visitor center, and designed to compliment the building. I was responsible for picking out and placing the plants included, as well as continued maintenance throughout the summer.

I followed the design guide of having a thriller (vertical and eye-catching), a spiller (trailing plants that grow over the edge of the planter and “spill” down around it), and a filler (low growing plants to fill the space between the thriller and spiller).

Seed sowing and propagation with Horticulture Club

One of the main activities of horticulture club is growing plants for plant sales throughout the year. These slowed down to nothing during COVID, so in the 2021-22 school year we were making an effort to bring them back.

Plant sales help the club fundraise for greenhouse fees and costs of supplies for the club.
